Telephone Directory Application for Android Smart Phones

The telephone directory  published by Yuvak Mandal is a bulky volume of more than 400 pages of which 377 pages are of members' details. To make life comfortable and to make available the telephone details to all the members in their hand any time & every time an application is developed for android smart phones which does not occupy much of storage on your phone. It is just about 3 MB where 1024 MB make 1 GB.
Here is the guidance to download and install the application and use the same at any where you like.
Here are the steps :
1) Go to Play store
2) Search 'MJV Yuvak Mandal' in play store
3) select the application to download
4) Install the appilcation
5) A folder will be created on your  phone with MJV Yuvak Mandal name.
6) Tap the application and search your required name.
7) Tap the name and get the list of phones and email address of the person you are searching
8) Select the required phone or email id
9) This will take you to dialer or email application on your phone.
10) Dial the phone or send email 
That is it.
It is very simple and useful.

Telephone Directory Application on Android Smartphones

The MJV Yuvak Mandal has published an application for Android Smartphones which loads Telephone Directory Application on to your Android Smartphone. On installing the application, you can get some 1000 telephone nos with name on your mobile and simply by choosing the name of the person you want to speak to the application takes you to dial pad and displays the number of the party. On pressing the telephone icon , number is dialed and you are connected to party to whom you want to talk. Though there are 1000 names on application, it may be increased to accommodate the whole new telephone directory so the printed hard copy of the directory will go into oblivion. To download the application, go to play store and search for MJV Yuvak mandal and download the application. When you download the application , you will get a notification welcoming you. Just try it. It is worth having on your phone as it can give you chance to talk to someone whom you have never talked to  but want to convey some message urgently.

Telephone Directory declared Published

Telephone Directory Publication & Web Site Launching By YuvakMandal

These are the Front & First Pages of New Telephone Directory which was published on 17-08-2014.
The function of publishing the Telephone Directory was held at Smt. Zaverben Popatlal Sabhagruh, Ghatkopar. 
How was the function ?
The function got delayed by nearly 1Hr 30 Mins. Instead of 9AM it started at about 10:30 AM. There was thin presence even at 10:30AM. Publication of Telephone Directory was combined with opening of Website of Yuvak Mandal. As if this was not enough time consuming, the president also  honoured his social gurus who made him what he is today. This was over and above the speeches and honouring of Chief Guests , Main Donor, Conveners of Telephone Directory Committee , The persons responsible for development of Website. All these took nearly 2Hrs & 30 Mts.
Hall was booked for 4 hours. 1 hour was wasted before starting of the function so only half an hour was available for the "Mental Magic" Show. If timings would have been adhered to , Magic Show would have lasted for 1Hr. 30 Mts. This was a bad planning. when you want to cram so many things in so little time , you can not waste a single minute. 
Other problem was the compere who was not so good in Gujarati and was committing mistakes in prononciations of Gujarati words. Further , with such a tight schedule, there was no need to play question answer  game that too at such a  slow speed. All this took toll of a really good Programme which was waiting to be started after the main function.  
The Website inauguration was done after activating the  site and main features of the site were briefly shown to the audience. Here is the opening page of the site 

Those of you who wish to visit the site can go to www.mjvyuvakmandal.org. The latest news & events show Website Launching but it does not mention Telephone Directory publishing.
The Mind Magic show was really magical and audience was only shown glimpses of what the programme is all about. With whatever was shown , people felt they were deprived of a very good programme which they would otherwise have seen and remembered for long time to come.
Lastly, the meals were very good. People were happy about it as they had never expected such a treat by a social organisation. Morning Breakfast was also good. We may say that this meals have saved the day for Yuvak Mandal.
A Good Programme badly planned.
Food for thought : When such a programme was kept, why enough time was not given ? Why there was lack of efforts in making publicity of such a programme ? What was the cost of this show ? Why waste so much of money when we are sure that we are short on time and are not able to manage?

Telephone Directory Publication Programme- Where is it heading ?

Tomorrow on 17th Aug. 2014, Yuvak Mandal is publishing the fifth edition of Telephone Directory of Members of our community. Will the programme be a success or failure ? why this question is being asked ? perhaps in the light of failure to attract the crowd at the time of our annual function is the reason. We see the following reasons for doubting the success of the programme.

1. The programme is kept on one of the days of long weekend when generally people plan to go out of town.
2. The morning programme on a Sunday is difficult for the people to attend as they are lazing on that day and they are totally laid back.
3. It is on Sunday when railways have mega blocks
4. It is in Ghatkopar so our members who are in considerable numbers in Borivali -Virar belt will not take part as commuting is going to take more than 2 hours one way. This happens conversely when a programme is kept in Borivali.
5. We though may not observe આઠમ  at home but at Samaj level it is compulsory to observe the આઠમ so there will be no લીલોતરી in the luncheon on the day.
6. The Programme  is on Janmastami day so the roads will be jammed by Dahi Handi Govindas
7. In couple of days our Paryushan will also start . Generally Before Paryushan, We have religious Shibirs in the derasars so many will prefer to attend that rather than attend the Programme.
8. Lastly, The entrance to the programme is not free to members as Rs. 100 will be charged for the entry pass for this programme which is having no proper publicity. People will think twice as family of 4 on a Sunday morning will have to shell out Rs. 400 for the pass and Rs. 100-200 for the transportation.

Moreover, Local people from Ghatkopar are likely to attend the function late as they are interested ,if at all, in the Luncheon rather than the programme. This leads to think that though you may count the presence on the number of passes sold or distributed, it will be certainly less by 50-60 people as either they will be late or will come late on purpose.

By the way How Many Passes are Sold ? Any Guess ?
