Letter from Pradip Doshi

Following letter is sent by our member Shri Pradip Doshi . Please read carefully.

An incident narrated by one of the Chartered Accountants...

Dear All, This happened in Mumbai.......

I cannot stop myself from sharing this with all of you. It all started
when I received a call from someone claiming that he was from my mobile service provider and he asked me to shutdown my phone for 2 hours for 3G update to take place. As I was rushing for a meeting, I did not question and shutdown my cell phone.

After 45 minutes I felt very suspicious since the caller did not even
introduce his name. I quickly turned on my cell phone and I saw several missed calls from my family members and the others were from the number that had called me earlier - 3954380.
I called my parents and I was shocked that they sounded very worried
asking me whether I am safe. My parents told me that they had received a call from someone claiming that they had me with them and asking for money to let me free. The call was so real and my parents even heard 'my voice' crying out loud asking for help. My parent was at the bank waiting for next call to proceed for money transfer. I told my parents that I am safe and asked them to lodge a police report.

Right after that I received another call from the guy asking me to
shutdown my cell phone for another 1 hour which I refused to do and hung up. They keep calling my cell phone until the battery had run down. I myself lodged a police report and I was informed by the officer that there were many such scams reported. MOST of the cases reported that the victim had already transferred the money! And it is impossible to get back the money. Be careful as this kind of scam might happen to any of us!!! Those guys are so professional and very convincing during calls. If you are asked to shut down your cell phone for updates by the service provider, ASK AROUND!
Your
family or friends might receive the same call.

Be Safe and Stay Alert!

Please pass around to your family and friends

Radical Boat Design

The Proteus is an experimental watercraft, using Wave Adaptive Modular Vessel technology developed by Ugo Conti's Marine Advanced Research.

Similar in design to a catamaran, it uses a twin hull design and no keel. Unlike most catamarans however, the superstructure is not rigidly attached to the hulls. The ship uses titanium shock absorbers to travel with the waves in the ocean, rather than through them. This method should theoretically allow the ship to move faster through the water while burning less fuel

The Construction of the Largest Human Tower in History-Spanish Govinda

The Castellers de Vilafranca is a cultural and sporting association whose main objective is to build castells (human towers).

The group was founded in 1948 in response to the increased interest in human tower building in Vilafranca del Penedèsin (Catalonia, Spain), a Catalan tradition that has evolved since the 18th century. Nowadays, the Castellers de Vilafranca have about 400 active  tower building members of all ages, with no discrimination on the grounds of race, religion, sex or social status. They share the common goal of building towers, democratic values, cooperation and team work, a constant desire to surpass themselves. Music: Polaris by Bostic.

Baby Elephant Rescue

Female elephants rescue a baby elephant from drowning in a waterhole.

"While we filmed the rescue we saw a number of intelligent actions by all involved in the rescue. However, watching the footage over and over there are plenty of activities that are well thought out by the aunt and mother to guide the baby elephant to safety. This rescue was more than instinct, it was cognizant action. The aunt was the first adult in the water and then the mother followed. The compassion and caring displayed by the herd while the baby elephant was in the water was spellbinding. The relief when they reached safety had us shaking from the tension."   Mark    Viewer comment: At about 0:35, it appears as though one of the elephants is rushing off to tell the rest of the herd what's going on - you even hear her make a short calling sound, and then a couple seconds later a whole group comes rushing over to see if they can help. This is just absolutely amazing and beautiful.

Skyscraper With Rotating Floors-.. a modern marvel of architectural design.

The Da Vinci Tower (also known as Dynamic Architecture Building) is a proposed 313 m (1,027 ft), 68-floor tower in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The tower is expected to be architecturally innovative for several reasons. Uniquely, each floor will be able to rotate independently. This will result in a constantly changing shape of the tower. Each floor will rotate a maximum of one full rotation in 90 minutesThe entire tower will be powered from turbines and solar panels, and five other buildings in the vicinity will also be provided with electricity. The turbines will be located between each of the rotating floors. They will generate 1,200,000 kilowatt-hours of energy from the movement of the floors, and the solar panels will be located on the roof.
